The deadline to apply for a special ballot for the upcoming referendum is tomorrow (Friday, September 25th).  

With just under a month left until the provincial referendum, Elections Alberta is releasing more information on voting and election worker recruitment efforts.

Elections Alberta is moving up the deadline to apply for a special ballot for the upcoming referendum.

Elections Alberta is currently recruiting election workers for the Provincial Referendum scheduled for October 19th, 2026.

Elections Alberta is sending out a warning about a fake website.   Officials said the agency recently identified a website that appears to be trying to represent itself as Elections Alberta. The URL is electionsab.ca and appears designed to mislead by imitating the agency’s legitimate website, elections.ab.ca, and exploit concerns about the recent unauthorized use of the List of Electors in the province. 

The first steps toward a possible formal recall petition has been set in motion against Fort Saskatchewan-Vegreville MLA Jackie Armstrong-Homeniuk.

The polls have closed on Election Monday and votes are being counted across the province.
