Canadian Blood Services looking for donors over the summer

As we get into the busy summer season, Canadian Blood Services is encouraging everyone to consider donating blood and plasma.

Officials say donors of all blood types are needed to make sure hospitals continue to have the supply patients rely on every day.

The organization says roughly two per cent of eligible Canadians donate, as demand continues to grow.

Officials add that the summer season has led to cancelled appointments, so they ask that if you book, try to keep your appointment or reschedule if you need. Appointments can be made online, by phone, or by using the Give-Blood app.
