Alberta RCMP is reminding the public of water safety rules to remember as part of Drowning Prevention Week.
Mounties are reminding the public that water safety is everyone’s responsibility, no matter where you are, and by taking simple precautions can help prevent tragedy.
Police encourage everyone to always wear a lifejacket when operating or riding on any kind of watercraft. Police added to always supervise children and inexperienced swimmers, and to avoid alcohol or substances that could impair judgement while on or near the water.
Drowning Prevention Week runs from July 19th to 25th.
