Police are issuing a warning about the consequences of impersonating an officer.
This comes after a recent incident in Lethbridge, where a 20-year-old was charged after allegedly driving a Ford Explorer outfitted to look like a police vehicle.
Sergeant Tony Ramotowski says impersonating an officer is a crime under section 1-30 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Ramotowski adds you can legally purchase a decommissioned police vehicle, but it must be stripped of all decals and equipment that make it appear like a cop car.
