November is Family Violence Prevention Month, and the Vegreville and District FCSS, along with the Child, Youth, and Family Committee, is raising awareness through an initiative called Table Talk.
Throughout the month, local restaurants and businesses are placing conversation cards on their tables to encourage people to talk about healthy relationships, safety, and family violence.
Hub Facilitator for the Kalyna Family Resource Network Yuliia Kalutska says they are very grateful to have local businesses here in Vegreville participate in the program.
Other initiatives slated for Family Violence Prevention Month include a free one-day workshop on November 23rd from 10am to 12pm at the Community Hub located at the Galleria Mall.
Community Development Facilitator with the Town of Vegreville Elizabeth Koehler-Lenko says the meeting will contain important information and resources for those who may need them.
The FCSS would also like to remind community members that if you or someone you know needs help, you can call or text the Family Violence Info Line at 310-1818, which is available 24 hours a day, or call 211 for local support.
