RCMP encourage safety when travelling and celebrating this Canada Day

Mounties are reminding everyone to never operate a motorized vehicle – including boats and off-highway vehicles – if you are impaired due to drugs or alcohol.

Mother’s Against Drunk Driving Canada notes that on average in this country, one in every four fatal collisions involves an impaired driver.

For those who are celebrating on Canada Day, Alberta RCMP say to plan to have a safe ride home by calling a taxi or rideshare service, use a designated driver, or have a safe place to stay the night.

Police, add drivers who refuse to provide a breath sample can be criminally charged.
