Across Canada, voter turnout hit its highest level in decades.
Nearly 68.7% of eligible voters cast a ballot, totaling about 19.5 million Canadians. That’s the best turnout since 1993, although it didn’t break the all-time record from 1958.
The Liberals ended up with 169 seats, followed by the Conservatives with 144. The Bloc and NDP each captured 6.3% of the vote, earning 22 and 7 seats, respectively.
