An incredible season for Carson Pewarchuk turned unforgettable in the league’s season-ending weekend. Vegreville’s top sniper notched a pair of goals on Friday night before scoring a hat-trick in Saturday’s win over the Mustangs, giving him 75 goals on the season, topping the record of 74 set by Artur Aloyan of the Vernal Oilers in the league’s inaugural year. Earlier this season, Pewarchuk already surpassed the record for points in a season. During this year, the local product tallied eleven two-goal games, seven three-goal games, three four-goal games and one eight-goal effort. While the regular season success has been fantastic, Pewarchuk’s eyes are on bringing a CAJHL championship to Vegreville. The Vipers playoff run to accomplish that goal will begin this weekend.
