Pewarchuk Rewrites CAJHL Record Book

Sunday afternoon’s win in Hinton not only gave the Vegreville Vipers two points in the standings, it also saw local product Carson Pewarchuk etch his name in the CAJHL’s record books. The high-scoring forward put up two goals and two assists in the victory, bringing his season point total to 162. That beats out the previous record of 159 points in a season, set just last year by Hinton’s Marian Pazitka. With just three games left on the schedule, Pewarchuk is also within striking distance of another CAJHL record, most goals scored in a season. He enters the league’s final weekend
with 70 on the year, four back of the record set in 2022 by Vernal’s Artur Aloyan. The Vipers are on the road for their final three contests. They’ll be in Barrhead Friday night before meetings with the Mustangs on Saturday and Sunday.

Pewarchuk has scored at least one point in every contest this season. In fact, you have to go back to February 4th, 2023 to find the last time he was held off the scoresheet, a span of 58 total games.
