Fire Restriction Issued For Lamont County

Effective at noon on Thursday, April 11th a fire restriction is being issued for Lamont County.

According to a press release from the County, this restriction is due to continued dry conditions, lack of precipitation, and increased wind speeds.

With the fire restriction in effect, active fire permits are rescinded, and no new fire permits will be issued. Fireworks and exploding targets are prohibited until further notice. Campfires, charcoal barbeques, burn barrels, propane barbeques and ULC approved propane fueled fire pits are permitted. Burning, or otherwise failing to follow the conditions set out in a Fire Restriction Order, could result in a $1,500 minimum fine.

This fire restriction is in effect for all of Lamont County rural areas, including Hamlets.

Also under this fire restriction are the municipalities of Lamont County, Town of Bruderheim, Town of Lamont, Village of Andrew, and Village of Chipman.
