A brand new season of APCCA Chuckwagon racing got off to a hot start in Vegreville Friday night. Six heats tore up the track at the Dash To Summer event and when the dust settled, it was the Stott family holding the first and second place times. Jack Stott led the way with an emphatic win in Heat Two.
Terry Cartier had the call as Jack Stott’s time of 69.43 finished the night in top spot. The longtime veteran was followed by son John at 69.90. Allan Bengston rounded out the top three with a 69.92, the only three sub 70-second times on the day. Night Two gets underway at 7:30 pm at the Vegreville Ag Society grounds.
