An additional sexual assault charge has been laid against a local school principal.
Police say after the public became aware of the arrest of Amit Mali for sexual assault in Sherwood Park on May 14th, an additional female victim came forward.
She disclosed to RCMP that she had also been a victim of sexual assault by Mali.
Investigation by Strathcona County RCMP General Investigation Section resulted in Mali once again being arrested and charged with one count of sexual assault.
He has been remanded into custody and is slated to appear in court in Sherwood Park this week.
Mali, who is a 42 year old resident of Sherwood Park, was initially charged with three counts of sexual assault and one count of criminal harassment on May 3rd.
An investigation began on February 2nd of this year after Strathcona County RCMP received a report involving a local school principal. The investigation at that time had determined there was one adult female victim.
