Town of Vegreville reminds drivers to use caution during summer months

Summer means more people are walking, biking, and spending time outdoors. The Town of Vegreville would like to remind community members that whether you’re driving through neighbourhoods, parks, or downtown, to stay alert and watch for pedestrians at every intersection or crosswalk.

Under the Alberta Traffic Safety Act, drivers must yield to all pedestrians at both marked and unmarked crosswalks, and failing to do so may result in a $810 fine and four demerit points.

Town officials say that a few extra seconds of caution can make all the difference, and help to keep our community safe for all during the summer months.
