Country Thunder Alberta cancels 2026 event

A popular country music festival has been cancelled…just days before it was set to begin.

Officials with Country Thunder Alberta announced the cancellation of the 2026 event in Calgary.

It was set to start tomorrow (Friday, June 26th) and run through Sunday.

Organizers cited city-imposed construction, traffic and noise barriers for reasons to cancel the event, but Calgary’s mayor Jeromy Farkas pushed back against those claims yesterday (Wednesday, June 24th).

Officials say ticket holders will get a full refund.
