Albertans can soon apply for a new energy rebate.
$100 could hit your bank account if you are 18 or older, have a household income of $225,000 or less, and have filed a 2025 tax return.
Jason Nixon, Alberta’s Minister of Finance and President of Treasury Board, says this is the law that has been set out by the provincial legislature.
“When a quarter has this average of price per barrel, to very clear, not price at the pump, above $90, that we would rebate either the fuel tax at the pump in the following quarter, or we would rebate, the way that we’re choosing to do it, is money already collected in the last quarter because of the changing situation, and the fact that this gets more money into Albertans’ pockets.”
Those who are eligible will be able to apply for the $100 stimulus through a secure online portal starting on July 1st.
