Alberta to invest 25 million into arts sector over the next five years

A 25-million-dollar investment into Alberta’s arts sector over the next five years is being made by the Canada Council for the Arts.

The new Alberta Focus Fund is designed to help artists and arts organizations develop projects and connect with audiences across the province. According to council officials, the funding will support a wide range of artists, along with organizations in rural and remote communities.

The Alberta initiative is said to be part of a broader effort by the council to strengthen arts communities across Canada.
