Viking Beaver FCSS Aims To Help Survivors Of Domestic Abuse With ‘Power Of Connection’ Community Session

The Viking Beaver Family and Community Support Services in conjunction with Beaver County Victim Services and the Department of Justice Canada will be hosting a community conference this June called “The Power of Connection”. The session is aimed at those looking to better understand the systems that assist individuals who are impacted by family violence and help them to prepare to connect loved ones to resources. Director for the Viking Beaver FCSS Dawn Chrystian says the conference is an excellent opportunity to learn more from those who have experience seeking support in the aftermath of domestic violence.

Chrystian also mentions that the session is a safe space for those who need to speak about these issues and learn a little bit more about the process of utilizing the resources and programs available to survivors of violence.

The Power of Connection Conference will take place on Saturday, June 1st from 10am to 2pm at the Viking FCSS Office. Guest speakers will be in attendance, including author Mary J. Schalla and Crown Prosecutor Patricia Hankinson. This event is free to attend, however registration is required. For more information or to register for this session, please contact the Viking Beaver FCSS at 780-336-4024.
