The Alberta Health Services Mobile Mammography Screen Test Program is making its way to Vegreville this June. Medical professionals will be on-site to provide free mammography screenings for women of all ages from June 21st to June 29th at St. Joseph’s Hospital. The AHS maintains that screening mammograms are the best way to detect breast cancer early, when treatment may be more effective. While screening mammograms may be beneficial to women of all ages, women aged 45 to 74 are encouraged to make mammograms a regular part of their health routine and attend a mammogram screening every two years, or as directed by a healthcare provider. Appointments for the Mobile Mammography Screen Test Program are required. To book an appointment, please call 1-800-667-0604.
