Vegreville Votes: Candidate for Councillor Colby Warawa

Why should people vote for me in this municipal election?
People should vote for me because I bring a fresh perspective from a new generation starting their lives in Vegreville, but I also recognize that those who built our community have valuable experience and wisdom to share. That means being willing to have the hard conversations and, most importantly, to listen first. Vegreville deserves councillors who bring forward the perspectives of the entire community—not just their own. I believe my mix of education, hands-on experience, and community involvement makes me ready to serve. Growing up on a family farm and earning an Agri-Business degree has given me a solid understanding of agriculture, the backbone of our local economy. Four summers working in Parks & Recreation showed me how town services are delivered on the ground, and my international studies in Business and Recreation Facility Management have prepared me to bring practical, forward-looking ideas. This is why I am asking for people to vote for me.
If elected, one thing I hope to accomplish is continuing to grow Vegreville in a responsible way. That means attracting new businesses, families, and events, while ensuring growth creates local jobs and is supported by the housing, schools, and services we need—without putting added strain on our community.
