A fatal single vehicle collision has claimed the life of a St. Albert resident.
Fort Saskatchewan RCMP were called to the scene on Highway 15, south of Range Road 231 in Sturgeon County just before 9:15am on Tuesday, May 14th.
Police say, upon arrival, emergency responders removed the driver and lone occupant from the vehicle. A 52 year-old male resident of St. Albert was declared deceased.
Mounties note that southbound traffic on Highway 15 was impacted for several hours while police investigated and the investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
According to a press release, the Alberta RCMP wish to express their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
