Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village Gears Up To Celebrate Dance This Victoria Day Weekend

The Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village is excited to open their doors for the summer season with an annual event called the Celebration of Dance this May-long weekend. The event is one of Alberta’s largest dance gatherings, and will feature a number of performances by dance groups from around the province. Dancers will take the stage in two parts throughout the day, where attendees can expect to see dance groups such as the Edmonton School of Ukrainian Dance, the Lloydminster Malanka Dancers, and the Camrose Veselka Dance Society.

The Historical Village will also be open to visitors, where families can explore historic buildings and interact with costumed interpreters. Traditional Ukrainian food will also be available and is provided by the Friends of the Ukrainian Village Society. Those looking to attend the day’s festivities are encouraged to bring their own lawn chair for seating. Regular site admission fees will apply this day. Attendees are also asked for the safety of visitors and livestock within
the Historical Village to leave pets at home. The Celebration of Dance at the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village will take place on Monday, May 20th from 10am to 5pm. For a complete list of dance groups participating, times, and admission fees, please visit the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village website at www.ukrainianvillage.ca, or call 780-662-3640.
