In Lac La Biche, Portage College is launching a brand-new Addictions Counselling diploma program this fall.
The two-year course will train students in everything from psychology and child care to hands-on addiction recovery work.
It’s part of a larger provincial effort to expand Alberta’s mental health workforce, especially in rural and underserved regions like the northeast.Â
