RCMP Investigation Underway Into Suspicious Vehicle Fire Near Sherwood Park

A suspicious vehicle fire is being investigated by the Strathcona County RCMP.

It happened at approximately 6:15am on Wednesday, May 8th on Anthony Henday Drive (216) in the southbound lane near Wye Road and anyone with information about it can contact the Strathcona County RCMP at 780-467-7741 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800-222 TIPS (8477).

Mounties say no one was injured and Strathcona County Fire Services arrived quickly and extinguished the blaze. According to police, the vehicle was completely destroyed.

In a press release, Constable R.A.S (Drew) Burchett states “Police are trying to figure out how the vehicle caught on fire. We’re hoping that someone might have dash cam that would show activity around the vehicle between 5:50am and 6:15am on the morning of May 8th.”
