The Akasu Palliative Care Society is introducing a program this month they’re calling Pallilearn. Pallilearn is a series of three 90 minute information sessions to educate the public on supporting those with serious illnesses and their families.
The sessions will cover topics like explaining what palliative care is, what matters most, and how to have conversations about dying and grief.
Board member for the Society Jennie Johnson says that while these are difficult topics to discuss, they are vital when it comes to helping those dealing with serious illnesses and supporting their caregivers and families.
The three information sessions will take place at the Vegreville Sunshine Club on May 13th, 20th, and 27th, all starting at 1:30pm and running until 3:30pm. Attendance to these meetings are free.
