Village Of Mannville Council Freezes Municipal Property Tax Rate Amid Inflation Challenges

In an effort to aid members of the community alleviate financial difficulties due to inflation and cost of living challenges, the Village of Mannville Council announced in April that it will freeze the municipal property tax rate for the second consecutive year. Mayor of the Village Rex Smith says that he and Council are aware of the struggles that residents are facing in 2024, which lead to the decision to halting an increase in the tax rate.

Smith adds he hopes that this tax rate freeze will help lessen the financial burden he knows the members of the community of Mannville and Albertans are grappling with every day.

According to a press release by the Village of Mannville, Council recognizes that the tax rate freeze is a short-term solution, and the Village is actively exploring additional measures to address inflation related concerns.
