Town of Bonnyville re-starting its rural immigration program to help find skilled workers

The Town of Bonnyville is re-starting its rural immigration program to help bring skilled workers into the community.

The program is part of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program and lets rural towns support newcomers who want to live and work there.

Changes from the province mean Bonnyville will now limit how many workers each business can sponsor, but local leaders say it’s a big help for solving labour shortages.

Council voted unanimously to bring the program back with the new rules.
