A number of fire restrictions are now in place for several areas, including the Beaver County Region and Lamont County.
There is an increased wildfire risk due to dry conditions, lack of precipitation, and wind speeds. All existing fire permits are cancelled and open burns must be extinguished.
New fire permits will not be issued during the restriction.
All open-air burning, including large and small brush piles consisting of leaves and/or tree prunings used for yard cleanup, are prohibited.
Fireworks and exploding targets are also prohibited during the restriction.
Fires in approved fire pits or appliances that don’t require a fire permit are still allowed.
